Why Are You Looking For?

Happiness is a complex subject and this will be one of my many blog posts on the matter. Today, I want to talk to you about having your own happiness instead of looking for it in others. The worst thing in life is to search for something that is there inside of you the whole time. Ask yourself this: What/who is the source of my happiness?

Happiness is way more than keeping a smile on your face and intervals of joy: it's being content with yourself and loving yourself. You see-the key word here is YOURSELF, nobody else can and shouldn't be able to control your happiness except you. Basing your life on somebody else is so unstable and only you are left alone sinking when the ship goes down. Is your happiness totally dependent on how someone else feels about you? Why not love yourself for who you are? How do you expect anyone else to? So who is in control of your happiness?

Now being in love is a beautiful don't get me wrong, but society has us thinking that it's one of the meanings of life. People even go as far as getting themselves depressed about being alone. You see it- the fairy tale stories are plastered all over the big screen and constantly fed to us over and over again. Instead of getting into a relationship because you care about someone and want to be with them- people get into one for personal validation because they're empty inside. And 9 times out of ten, these relationships end up in a breakup. Don't get into a relationship for the wrong reasons. It's like having the perfect car but if you're driving down the wrong road- it'll all be for nothing or you'll get lost.

So the point of this post is to tell you to not look for happiness in others because you'll never be truly happy. So where's your happiness? It's closer than you may think.
